Happy New Year!!!
Before the holiday break our firm must complete our annual training and CPE work which includes 48 hours of classes and networking with our colleagues in Orlando. Hundreds of CPA's and tax preparers gather to these events to learn, discuss issues with our practices, and to network.
A reoccurring theme this year was the "crackdown" the IRS has planned for tax payers in 2010. They have hired thousands of new auditors and plan to use them in hitting small business and individuals. High priority targets are fraudulent use of the home buying credits, S-corps that are not paying salaries, high itemized deduction filers, and high income earners (those over 200K).
There has never been a greater need for professional tax return preparation and planning with these new threats. In the coming months our clients will be hearing from us on what to do and steps we are taking to keep them in the clear. If you are reading this and are not a client, please call us and let us help you get your tax house in order before the IRS begins these searches.
I look forward to talking to each of you in the coming months, tax season is almost here and we have never been more ready. Happy New Year from all of us at Ragain Financial!
